County offers up to $400 heating credit for senior citizens | Health

The Cabarrus County Department of Human Services is offering assistance for senior citizens through the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP).

The program offers a one-time annual payment toward heating in the winter months.

Depending on the applicant's income and the number of people in the home, a credit may be issued in the amount of either $200, $300 or $400.

County Residents aged 60 and over can apply for assistance at the Cabarrus County Department of Human Services, located at 1303 South Cannon Boulevard in Kannapolis, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The application deadline is January 31.
