Today is the deadline to register to vote for NC May primary

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Friday the 13th is the last day for citizens of North Carolina to register to vote in order to be able to vote in the state's May 8th primary.

The deadline to register to vote is 25 days before the day of the election; however, individuals who miss the registration deadline, may register in person and then vote at an one-stop absentee voting site in the person's county of residence, during the one-stop absentee voting period, according to the State Board of Elections' website.

The primary is separated by party, meaning only registered party members can vote in their party's primary.

NC voters will also vote on Amendment One on May 8th, which would add an amendment to the state's constitution banning same-sex marriage.

You can find much more information on how to register and vote here.
